What the Quiet Was Making Room For

There are seasons in life when things grow quieter on the outside and from a distance it can almost look as though nothing is happening at all, when in truth something far deeper is unfolding beneath the surface- something that does not want to be rushed into words before it has had the chance to fully express itself.

And if we are being honest with you, that is where we have been lately.

For months now, we have not shown up for the Love Elemental community in the way we once did. We have not created in the same rhythm or shared in the same way. Many times, we thought, we really need to sit down and write to you. And then life, in its very real and very uninterested-in-our-plans way, would remind us that some seasons are not meant for scheduled updates, or pleasant content.

There have been times that asked everything of us, not as teachers and mentors, but simply as human beings who care deeply. There have also been moments of walking alongside profound grief, of supporting those we love through devastating loss, through illness, through long and frightening stretches of worry, through the kinds of experiences that alter the emotional atmosphere of everything around them. When life enters that territory, it has a way of rearranging what matters- completely and permanently.

During such times, the smallest things begin to feel sacred and become the focus of daily appreciation: that message arriving at just the right time, the shared silence in which a hand on a shoulder is enough, the laugh that somehow rises in the middle of tears, a warm meal after days of cold food and colder weather, a deep, full breath before the next hard thing. In moments like these, you begin to realize that presence is not a small offering at all. It is often the most meaningful thing we have to give.

Throughout this season, there have been moments when we have felt stretched far beyond what feels sustainable, the kind of stretching that is less “graceful expansion” and more “how exactly am I functioning right now?”  We have shared days of deep tenderness, days of fatigue, days of learning how to care for others without abandoning ourselves, and days when the most spiritual thing available was a cup of tea, a good cry, and the sincere hope that tomorrow might contain slightly less emotional charge.

One of the clearest truths that has come through all of this is that healing does not always look like sacred stillness.  Sometimes, it can look like showing up tired and not forcing words when the words are not ready.  Other times, it looks like stepping back from what you love because you want to return to it  authentically rather than performatively.

And that matters to us deeply. If we are here, we want to be here honestly

What if our pause is not failure but rather part of how something more real, aligned and maybe even authentic begins?

We have felt this truth in a very deep way as we notice that there has been a quiet reorganization happening within us. It feels steady and has become undeniable, and in this space, something unexpected began to emerge.

We were inspired to create music.  Evening impulses from The United Souls whispered to us to “step into the lane of creation and take to, and make music”.

It arrived first as play, experimentation,  and a way of following a feeling without resistance. It felt easy and fun and freeing and we were starting to feel the movement of life through us again. This flow of creation was different from the way we were used to creating, but it felt so satisfying and freeing to create in this way. It reminded us that creativity can come forth in many different ways, and that it does not need to vanish in difficult seasons. It adapts, finds another route, and waits for us to allow what is ready to come through.

We began listening more closely, allowing more, and forcing less. What came through left us utterly speechless: we had created songs that carry the frequency of what we teach, of what The United Souls teach. They became less like explanations and more like lived experiences, meeting us in the body and the heart just as much as in the mind.

As we sit here writing this post, we have now created seven beautiful songs with The United Souls of Heaven and Earth, and each one has carried its own energy, its own message, and its own kind of medicine. One of those songs, ON MY FREQUENCY, was born out of a moment of very real human awareness. We had both noticed that our vibration was not quite where we wanted it to be. In the most ordinary and slightly hilarious way, we realized we seemed to be catching far more than our usual share of red lights, and it became one of those little outer signs that reflected something inner. We knew our frequency mattered, and quite honestly, we were getting a little tired of being stuck in traffic in more ways than one.

So we began to shift it-  little by little, choice by choice. We turned more intentionally toward what we know brings us back to ourselves. We listened to vibrational music. We spent more time in meditation. We gave more attention to appreciation. We spent more time with The United Souls. We returned, again and again, to remembering who we are. And as we did, something began to change. The red lights quite literally began turning green, but more than that, we could feel the goodness of life returning to our experience. There was more flow, more openness, more lightness, and from that shift, this song was inspired.

ON MY FREQUENCY was written and created with The United Souls and engineered with their inspiration. We used brilliant AI tools to support the vocals, while the video itself is entirely our own human creation.

We realize now that this music is not separate from the work we have always done; it is simply another way for that same love, guidance, and truth to find expression. It is also another way The United Souls have shown us the power of creation, and the beauty that can unfold when we are willing to follow it somewhere new.

What this season has shown us is that life does not always ask you to move in the ways you are used to. Sometimes it asks you to stretch beyond who you have been, to discover parts of yourself you have not yet fully lived, and to find new ways of expressing what is true. And while that can sound beautiful in theory, in real life it often feels far less tidy. Some days it looks like clarity, some days it looks like exhaustion, and some days it looks like grace arriving in the middle of the mess. Other days, it looks like the two of us laughing at the sheer absurdity of being human, because honestly, the alternative is becoming far too serious for our own good.

And if you have found yourself in a season like this too, one that feels quieter, heavier, or somehow different from the rhythm you are used to, we hope you know there is nothing wrong with you. You are not failing your path simply because it does not look polished. Some of the deepest seasons of becoming do not look impressive from the outside, and yet they are often the very ones changing us most.

We are not coming back as we were. We are coming back truer, more open, and more willing to share what is real, not only what is easily packaged. We are also so excited to begin sharing the music that was born in this space, because it carries something of this season within it, and we think you will feel that.

Thank you for being here and thank you for staying connected, even in the quiet. Thank you for your patience, your presence, and the love you have continued to hold for our work. We have never stopped holding this beautiful community in our hearts and we assure you our work has not disappeared; it has simply been unfolding in a different form, beneath the surface, in places that were asking for more listening, more honesty, and more trust.

And now, with our deepest love, we hope you love what we have shared.  Stay tuned for what is still yet to come!

With so much love, always,
Sue & Heidi
